Mushrooms stored in paper bags stay fresh about five days. Plastic bags aren't recommended because mushrooms need to breathe and will begin to develop harmful bacteria after only a short time in an airtight atmosphere. Unlike paper or plastic, this container allows mushrooms to breathe through the porous clay walls while staying fresh and plump.

These pots are made on the potter's wheel and vary in size and shape from piece to piece. Holds about one pound of button mushrooms.
